TAUU-council

Teachers Community TAUU (Teaching Academy Utrecht University) is a community of teachers that meet online as well as face-2-face. Teachers share knowledge, develop ideas and inspiration and work on projects together. TAUU is a community that provides space for creativity and innovation.

The Teachers Community TAUU is looking for four teachers for the TAUU Council.

The TAUU council will be the face of TAUU for the teachers. It keeps it’s finger on the pulse of what is going on among teachers, including critical views around education, and brings this information, whether directly solicited or not, to the attention of the wider university. Together with the project managers within TAUU, the TAUU council ensures that the teacher community is vibrantly alive and shares relevant knowledge across the colleges and faculties.

Role and composition of the TAUU council

The role of the TAUU Council is to represent, activate and initiate ideas and activities for the teaching community. The council does this from an independent position and does not eschew highlighting difficult points of conflict or debate within the teaching community. Whether it concerns work pressure, temporary contracts or other sensitive subjects, the voice of the teacher must be heard and the TAUU council makes sure it will be heard.
The TAUU council preferably consists of a representation of lecturers from different domains within UU (alpha, beta, gamma, life science). In addition, we strive for diversity in the representation of teachers: junior / senior, permanent / temporary, Dutch / International. The working language will be bilingual English and Dutch.

The term of office is three years and, depending on the activities to be planned, it will take you about half a day per month. A compensation fee is available for this work. 

You are:
• A representative of the teaching community and able to actively engage with it
• Not afraid to bring forward critical points of view
• Enthusiastic about sharing (practical) knowledge about education
• Action-oriented and you like to pick up things yourself: write blogs, identify issues, use your network and answer questions
• Prepared to enter discussions at the board level on behalf of TAUU

You have:
• A critical view of education and a willingness to promote innovation and change.
• A good network within UU that goes beyond the usual suspects

TAUU-raad

Docentencommunity TAUU (Teaching Academy Utrecht University) is het netwerk voor en door alle docenten van de Universiteit Utrecht. Bij TAUU ontmoeten docenten elkaar, zowel online als persoonlijk. Om kennis te delen, ideeën en inspiratie op te doen en om gezamenlijk projecten te ontwikkelen. Een netwerk met ruimte voor creativiteit en innovatie.

De Docentencommunity TAUU is op zoek naar 4 docenten voor de TAUU-raad.

De TAUU-raad wordt het gezicht van TAUU naar de docenten. Ze haalt op wat er leeft onder docenten, ook de kritische geluiden en brengt dat gevraagd en ongevraagd onder de aandacht. Samen met de projectleiders binnen TAUU zorgt de TAUU-raad dat de community leeft en relevante kennis deelt.

Rol en samenstelling TAUU-raad

De rol van de TAUU-raad betreft representeren, activeren en initiëren van ideeën en activiteiten voor de docentencommunity. Dit doet zij vanuit een onafhankelijke positie en ze schuwt niet om de pijnpunten binnen de docentencommunity naar voren te brengen. Of dat nu gaat om werkdruk, tijdelijke contracten of andere gevoeligheden, de stem van de docent moet gehoord worden en de TAUU-raad is hier een spreekbuis voor.

De TAUU-raad bestaat bij voorkeur uit een vertegenwoordiging van docenten uit verschillende domeinen binnen de UU (alfa, bèta, gamma, life science). Daarnaast wordt gestreefd naar diversiteit in de vertegenwoordiging van docenten: junior/senior, vast/tijdelijk, Dutch/non-Dutch. De voertaal zal bilingual zijn.

De zittingstermijn is drie jaar en het zal, afhankelijk van de te plannen activiteiten, ongeveer een halve dag per maand in beslag nemen. Een vergoeding is hiervoor beschikbaar.

Jij bent:

• Representatief voor de docentencommunity en in staat deze te activeren
• Niet bang om kritische geluiden te laten horen
• Enthousiasmerend over het delen van (praktijk)kennis over onderwijs
• Initiatiefrijk en vindt het leuk om zelf dingen op te pakken: blogs schrijven, issues signaleren, netwerk inzetten en vragen beantwoorden
• Bereid om namens TAUU het gesprek aan te gaan op bestuurlijk niveau

Jij hebt:

• Een kritische kijk op onderwijs en de bereidheid om innovatie en verandering te bevorderen.
• Een goed netwerk binnen de UU, dat verder gaat dan de usual suspects
