Time for another blog about the Onderwijsparade (Education Fair). Great news: we already have 381 applications to join us on March 16th! To convince EVEN MORE students and (international) colleagues to join us, I will tell you a bit more about the program.

Our program contains four themes: 1) International classroom (how to deal with diversity within the student and staff population); 2) Professional development (which means does the university provide to prepare you for internationalization); 3) Internationalization of the curriculum (how do you adapt your curriculum to internationalization); and 4) Mobility (incoming and outgoing students and staff).

Within all four themes, interesting workshops will be given by experts. Our intention is that all workshops will provide participants with practical tools that they can easily apply in their own work.

But before we immerse ourselves in  these workshops, we will start off with a keynote lecture by Sally Brown, Emeritus Professor at Leeds Beckett University. Last year, I had the pleasure of participating in a workshop that Sally provided (also on the subject of internationalization) and it was one of the most wonderful, inspirational and humorous workshops I have ever attended. So, I am very much looking forward to her keynote lecture!

Het is weer tijd voor een nieuw blog over de Onderwijsparade op 16 maart. Geweldig nieuws:  we hebben inmiddels al 381 aanmeldingen! Om NOG MEER studenten en (internationale) collega’s ervan te overtuigen dat ze er op 16 maart bij moeten zijn vertel ik deze week iets meer over het programma.

Het programma bestaat uit vier thema’s: 1) International classroom (hoe ga je om met diversiteit binnen je studenten- en medewerkerspopulatie); 2) Professionalisering (welke middelen heb je tot je beschikking om jezelf voor te bereiden op internationalisering); 3) Internationalisering van het curriculum (hoe verwerk je internationalisering in je curriculum) en 4) Mobiliteit (inkomende en uitgaande studenten en medewerkers).

Binnen alle vier de thema’s zijn  interessante workshops georganiseerd, die door experts worden verzorgd. Onze bedoeling is dat in alle workshops een tool beschikbaar komt die deelnemers gemakkelijk kunnen gebruiken bij hun eigen werkzaamheden.

Maar voordat we ons onderdompelen in deze workshops beginnen we met een keynote lecture van Sally Brown, Emeritus Professor aan Leeds Beckett University. Vorig jaar had ik het genoegen om deel te nemen aan een door Sally verzorgde workshop (ook over internationalisering) en dat was één van de meest geweldige, inspirerende en grappige workshops waaraan ik ooit heb deelgenomen. Ik kijk daarom heel erg uit naar haar keynote lecture!
