Save the Date: symposium ‘Facilitation of Student Learning in Higher Education’ op 31 mei, 2018

Een absolute aanrader voor iedereen die geïnteresseerd is in de kwaliteit van het hoger onderwijs om alvast in je agenda te zetten. Op donderdag 31 mei, 2018 is de aula van het Academiegebouw vanaf 13:30 gereserveerd voor het symposium ‘Facilitation of Student Learning in Higher Education’. Het symposium is vrij toegankelijk en wordt georganiseerd ter gelegenheid van het afscheid van Andries Koster van de Universiteit. Aan dit symposium nemen deel:

“How do students learn – Learning approaches and learning gains of students”

Sofie Loyens – Professor of Teaching Excellence, Roosevelt Center for Excellence in Education, Middelburg
“How to get the best out of every student – Educational environment and teaching approaches”

Sari Lindblom-Ylänne – Professor of Higher Education, University of Helsinki, Finland
“How can teachers improve student learning – Teacher development and research on teaching and learning”

Symposium chair: Jan van Tartwijk, professor of Applied Educational Sciences, Utrecht University

Vanaf 16:00 uur zal Andries een afscheidscollege geven met als titel “Makkelijker kunnen we het niet maken, wel leuker” Na afloop kunt u tijdens een receptie en een etentje zelf afscheid nemen van Andries.

Het symposium is Engelstalig, het afscheidscollege in het Nederlands. Een nadere aankondiging volgt in april.


On Thursday May 31st, 2018, a symposium on the quality of higher education will be organized in the auditorium magnum, Academy building, Utrecht. Access is free and the symposium will start at 13.30. It is organized on the occasion of the retirement of Andries Koster (Faculty of Science) from the University. Participants taking part in this symposium are:

From 16.00 Andries Koster will give his valedictory lecture titled: “Makkelijker kunnen we het niet maken, wel leuker” (this part will be in Dutch).
