Zoals Sibe in zijn blog al aankondigde gaan wij elke week een blog posten in aanloop naar de Onderwijsparade. De organisatiecommissie heeft het tijdens de voorbereidingen natuurlijk vooral over inhoudelijke vragen: wat is een interessant hoofdthema, welke workshops passen daar bij en wie zouden deze workshops moeten gaan geven? Daarnaast brainstormen we ook over onderwerpen die weliswaar minder belangrijk zijn maar wel bijdragen aan de algemene sfeer op 16 maart: welke hapjes, drankjes en aankleding passen goed binnen het thema? Het thema Internationalisering nodigt enigszins uit tot verkleedpartijen en vlaggengezwaai, maar het moet ook weer niet al te lollig worden. Dilemma’s, dilemma’s…!

Veel medewerkers en studenten aan de Universiteit Utrecht kennen de Onderwijsparade wel, maar niet iedereen heeft misschien helder op het netvlies waar het ook al weer om draait. De Onderwijsparade heeft als doel: een substantiële bijdrage leveren aan onderwijsverbetering. Het is de bedoeling van de organisatiecommissie dat de Onderwijsparade voor een breed publiek interessant is. Niet alleen docenten houden zich immers bezig met onderwijsverbetering, ook de input en bijdrage van studenten en ondersteunend personeel is hierbij onmisbaar. We hebben er daarom voor proberen te zorgen dat deze verschillende doelgroepen allemaal goed bediend worden door workshops aan te bieden die toegespitst zijn op specifieke interesses. Je kunt alvast hier kijken hoe het programma er uit gaat zien. En voor aanwezigen met een interesse in dans komt er een tango-workshop. Dat wordt nog moeilijk kiezen straks!

As Sibe mentioned in his earlier blog, we will post a blog each week as we approach the annual Education Fair. During the preparations, the organizing committee mainly discusses the content of the Education Fair: what is an interesting main theme, which workshops fit that theme and who should give these workshops? We have also talked about subjects that are less important but nonetheless contribute to the overall atmosphere on March 16th: which food, drinks and decorations fit our theme? Considering the theme, Internationalization, it is tempting to resort to costume parties and flag-waving. But we don’t want to turn our professional fair into a sideshow. Dilemmas, dilemmas…!

A lot of Utrecht University employees and students have heard of the annual Education Fair, but maybe not everybody knows exactly what it is and what it’s about. The goal of the Education Fair is to contribute substantially to the improvement of education. The organizing committee strives to make the Education Fair interesting for a wide audience, because teachers are not the only people within our institution that focus on improving education. The input and contribution of students and support staff is indispensable. That’s why we have tried to make sure that these different groups all have workshops to choose from that are tailored to their specific interests. You can already check out the program here. And for attendants with an interest in dance, there will be a tango workshop. We hope we won’t make it too difficult to choose on March 16th!
